Web traffic for Thursday, June 26

Thursday we had 36,358 unique visitors making the fifth day in a row with more than 30,000 unique visitors. Page views were also strong at 159,718. A steady stream of traffic continues to flow from the "pee puddle" story (10,773 views on Thursday), and readers also wanted to know what the big stink was about at the Stockpot eatery (sewer woes, 2,134 views). Fireworks 1,903 views; cat fight at bar 1,823.

Most popular photo galleries were photos of the week (2,129), summer reading (1,286) and Hampton Beachcomber (1,068).

The push for "breaking news" off print cycle is paying off. Thanks to everyone for the effort and keep up the momentum.

Tuesday, June 24 very solid with 31,869 unique visitors and 179,080 page views. Top story by a mile was Gina's Bachelorette recap with more than 7,000 page views followed by the dead fish in the York Middle School bathroom ceiling.

Top gallery was Cheryl Senter's catamaran regatta that brought in another 11,000 page views, followed by June 16-22 photos of the week that brought in 5,100 page views.

E-Mail newsletters and headlines continue to do well. The big question is, which paper will get to 1,000 headline subscribers first, the Exeter News-Letter or York County Coast Star? The News-Letter has 943 subscribers while the YCCS has 935.

Angry ATM guy drives traffic

June 18, first day of incentive program, we had 26,089 uniques and 150,253. June 19, second day of program, we had 26,774 uniques, and 151,085. Let's keep pushing to continue this upward trend.

Top stories on June 18 were "Giant Ant Vandal Sentenced" and "Kensington resident found dead." On June 19 both the guy arrested for anger at ATM and Man Found Dead in Bathtub had more than 3,000 page views.

On Tuesday, June 17, Seacoastonline saw 25,870 uniques and 168,338, a slightly below average day. As I mentioned, the way to fix this is to redouble our efforts on breaking news between cycles.
The Lara Bunce tragedy out of Hampton continued to be our stop story while photos of the week and sand sculpting were the top galleries.

We had a good day yesterday with 29,622 unique visitors and 179,447 page views. Top stories were "Man uses stolen credit card, applies at same store," which was Farked, and "Suspect in Seacoast burglaries faces new charge.."
